PRESIDENT OF THE JURY

KHAIRY BESHARA

Khairy Beshara is an Egyptian Film and television director. He entered the Egyptian Higher Institute of Cinema and graduated in 1967. In 1968, he traveled to Poland to continue his studies. When he returned to Egypt, he worked as an assistant director in addition to acting, writing, and teaching at the Institute. In 1972, he worked on the famous Polish movie “In Desert and in Wilderness”. Throughout the years he made over a dozen documentaries and films tackling primary issues, exploring ideas of identity, culture, and heritage among many other themes.

Khairy Beshara is considered one of the Egyptian directors who re-defined Realism in Egyptian cinema in the 1980s. In a recent book published by Bibliotheca Alexandrina in 2007 about the most important 100 films in the history of Egyptian cinema, three of his movies were listed: The Collar and the BraceletBitter Day, Sweet Day, and Ice Cream in Gleem.

IMANE MESBAHI

Imane Mesbahi is a Moroccan Producer and Director, born in Tetouan. She graduated from the High Cinema Institute of Cairo, then pursued psychology at the Ain Chams University. She founded her production company Channel 4 for Movie Distribution. She directed and produced many commercials, media campaigns, and documentaries, and feature films for cinema and television. She directed the movie Dream of an Arab Woman in Egypt. In addition, Mesbahi distributed over 64 Moroccan and Egyptian films.

MOUHAMAD KEBLAWI

Mouhamad Keblawi is a Palestinian Director and Producer. He is also the Founder and Head of the Festival and Industry of the Malmo Arab Film Festival. Keblawi has a broad experience in project management and business development within the cultural and creative industries, with a particular focus on diversity. He is the General Manager of the festival as well as the founder of Arab Cinema in Sweden (ACIS), a company that works on distributing and promoting Arab films in Sweden.

DALIA EL BEHERY

Dalia El Behery is an Egyptian Actress. In 1989, she won the title of Miss Egypt and ranked 27th in the Miss World competition held in Los Angeles in the same year. She obtained a BA from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Department of Tourist Guidance, where she worked as a tour guide. She then began her artistic life as a fashion model, later working as a program presenter on the Egyptian satellite channel, paving her way to a long and successful acting career.

She made her debut as an actress in the film Mohami khulaa in 2002, She has worked with stars such as Adel Imam in his film “Al Safara fe Al Emara” along with other comedians and singers including Hany Ramzy, Moustafa Amar and Khaled Selim. Throughout her career she has become a prominent figure in Egyptian Cinema.

FADI ABI SAMRA

Fadi Abi Samra is a well-known Lebanese actor and director who holds a master’s degree in Dramatic Arts from the Lebanese University in Beirut. Abi Samra is a multi-talented artist who has worked as an animation director for Future TV. Throughout his career, Abi Samra has participated in several successful cinematic works, including “West Beirut,” which won many awards, “Bab El Shames,” “Dekhan Bala Nar,” “Kil Youm Eid,” “Beirut Hotel”, “Tale3 Nezel,” and “Broken Keys.”

He has also played a role in several series which include – but are not limited to – “Nos Youm,” “Al Hayba,” “Daqeeqat Samet,” “Al Kitab,” “Aahd El Dam,” “Al Sahir,” and more recently, he took a role in the series “Lal Mot,” which aired during Ramadan 2021. He has also acted in several plays including “Abajur,” “Jnaynet El Sanayeh,” “Fe Intizar Godo,” and .
